Siqueira Castro Advogados celebrates 60 years of activities and conquer
the fourth position among the largest offices in Latin America
Siqueira Castro Advogados won the fourth position in the ranking of the largest offices in Latin
America, prepared by British Latin Lawyer magazine, one of the most respectable publications
of the area in the legal world.
Developed from the number of lawyers in each of the offices, the ranking shows the
extraordinary growth of Siqueira Castro in the year 2007. With 373 lawyers, of whom 52 are
partners, the firm climbed two positions in the last year, passing the sixth position in 2007 to the
fourth position in 2008.
"The fourth placing in the ranking reflects our growth, particularly in Sao Paulo, which
concentrates today diverse areas of expertise and most of our technical and managerial staff,"
evaluates Heitor Faro de Castro, managing partner of the São Paulo office.
Present in 15 major Brazilian state capital, as well as in other important cities in the country.
Overseas, the firm mantains a full service office in Lisbon, Portugal, and recently inaugurated in
Luanda, Angola. Siqueira Castro Advogados is a pioneer in the provision of legal services to
Brazilian companies and wholly foreign - all size and activities, on a full service basis. The office
serves the legal demands of their clients by offering broad portfolio of services in all areas of
business law.
The new office in Luanda - Angola serve mainly the Brazilian corporations that are investing in
the African country at this time of national reconstruction. Currently, Brazil is the second largest
investor in Angola, behind only from China. The ceremony of inauguration of this new office will
be held this coming April and will be presided by President of Angola, Dr. José Eduardo dos
Santos.
The international presence of the office is one of its potential. Siqueira Castro Advogados has
cooperation agreements and strategic aliances with some of the key players in international
legal market, such a cooperation agreement with the office Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo, one of
the ten largest firms in Spain, and the North American Tacher, Proffitt & Wood LLP, based
primarily in New York, among others.
Alliances with authoritative operational offices in Brazil, Latin America, North America, Asia and
Europe, have been critical to the development of the work over the years. The origin of these
alliances is the ADVOC (worldwide network of offices of independent advocacy) -
www.advoc.com - network in which the firm is the coordinator in Latin America.
"Being the 4th largest law firm in Latin America is a remarkable achievement and a proof of the
bonds of trust that unite our team to the numerous corporations that honor us with their legal
challenges. This achievement also bring an important recognition of the the effort, competence,
dedication and client oriented vision business of our team of partners and associates " ,
thanked Carlos Roberto Siqueira Castro, senior partner of the firm.
It is also remarkable that Latin Lawyer magazine had already elected, in the year 2007,
Siqueira Castro Advogados as the best firm in Brazil in the practice of pro bono advocacy and
the implementation of projects of social responsibility dedicated to supporting numerous
philanthropic institutions and assistance to needy child and people with special needs.
